It is not always easy to understand Auto-Focus systems and features and when they are available to use. I have tested all of them and here they, this is waht the X-T2 have to offer:

For video in 4K:
-Focus Area can be selected
-No Face/Eye Detection
-No AF mode can be selected (Single point, Zone, Wide/Tracking, All) default is Single Point.
-AF Points 91

For video in 1K:
-Focus Area can be selected
-Face/Eye Detection can be used only for face not eye
-No AF mode can be selected (Single point, Zone, Wide/Tracking, All) default is Single Point.
-AF Points 91

For stills in (Single Point) Auto-Focus mode
-Focus Area can be selected
-Face or Eye Detection
-AF Points 91 or 325

For stills in (Zone) Auto-Focus mode
-Focus Area can be selected
-Face or Eye Detection
-AF Points 91

For stills in (Wide/Tracking) Auto-Focus mode
-Focus Area can be selected
-Face or Eye Detection
-AF Points 91

For stills in (All) Auto-Focus mode
-Focus Area can be selected
-Face or Eye Detection
-AF Points 91
